Buenos Aires Autonomous city. The district features some of the most important buildings in Buenos Aires, these include city hall, the city legislature,Buenos Aires Cabildo ,Casa Rosada , theBuenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral , theColegio Nacional de Buenos Aires , the Libertador Building (Ministry of Defense) and the National Bank of Argentina.Avenida de Mayo runs through the Monserrat district, it is one of the most famous streets in Argentina, connectingPlaza de Mayo and the Plaza de los Dos Congresos (Congressional Plaza).A block, or two, south of the Plaza de Mayo, the older section of Montserrat begins.
