Petruso family

The Petruso family was an illustrious, ancient, and noble family recently originating in Borgetto, Sicily, Italy where many of the descendants reside today. The family can be extended to the 1200s where Manfredo Petruso was honored by King Frederick II in 1229 and given the fief of Bubenetto as stated in the coat of arms. It is also said in the coat of arms that the Petruso family also owned the fiefs of Ragamulsuri and Pollicarni.

It flowered primarily in Catania, Castrogiovanni, Palermo and other locations on the Island and was represented by many noted men who continued to seek acclaim and who filled the most prominent positions in the cities where they resided.
