The 1986 Australian 2.0 Litre Touring Car Championship was open to "Group A" Touring Cars of under 2.0 litre capacity. The title was contested over a five round series.
*Round 1 : Sandown Raceway, Victoria, 13 April
*Round 2 : Adelaide International Raceway, South Australia, 27 April
*Round 3 : Calder Park Raceway, Victoria, 1 June
*Round 4 : Oran Park Raceway, New South Wales, 13 July
*Round 5 : Lakeside International Raceway, Queensland, 27 July
This was the first of three such championships to be awarded by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport.
