Ellen Young (born 1952) is an American Democratic Party politician who represents the 22nd assembly district in the New York State Assembly. She was elected in 2006 representing Flushing, Queens.Young has recently been caught in a storm of controversy over physical and verbal attacks against
Falun Gong practitioners in her district of Flushing, Queens. Young has repeatedly refused to condemn or even acknowledge the attacks, instead accusing Falun Gong of "blocking the sidewalk".
