Actix Ltd is a wireless performance engineering solution development firm. It was founded in 1991 by Robert Dobson and Dr Yui Fai Ko. In 2005 a majority stake in the firm was acquired by Summit Partners, a venture capital firm. Today the company employs over 200 people, and has headquarters in Hammersmith, London, and other offices around the world.

Actix coined the term "Network Status Management" (NSM) in 2006 to describe the category of products introduced to bring the benefits of OSS systemization and automation to Radio Access Network (RAN) engineering processes.

Actix was the first company to announce a full scale solution for Self-Optimizing Networks (SON), announcing a commercial network node designed to support centralized or hybrid SON for the 3.9G LTE standard during February 2009, well ahead of major manufacturers.

Network Status Management

Network Status Management (NSM) is a new category of software solutions that help mature, next generation mobile carriers to directly address their radio access network (RAN) cost issues. NSM technologies combine the capabilities of traditional radio access engineering techniques with advances in automation and workflow management, allowing OSS-like coordination and consistency to be pushed into the radio sub-system for the first time.
