James Winer

James Winer

Dr James H. Winer is the controversial founder and director of the Pain Release Clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated summa cum laude, valedictorian from Life University, College of Chiropractic. He also graduated with honors from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and had additional studies at the University of Paris, France, and other universities. Dr Winer has served as the convention director of the National Health Federation, education director of Hippocrates Health Institute, and associate director of the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Research Foundation. He currently is the host of many health talk shows on radio, including Get Well Naturally on KDKA, 1020AM, on Saturdays at 1PM Eastern Time(which can be heard on live audio streaming on www.kdkaradio.com), Your Health Naturally at 10AM Saturdays on FM 104.7, and throughout the week on WKHB 620AM in the western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia region. Dr has also authored the "Basic Nutrition Handbook" (1977).

His viewpoints tend to express disdain for traditional medicine, often stating that traditionally and rigorously trained physicians do not recommend his proprietary products because "they don't know" about them. He also often tells patients with chronic illnesses, for which there is no known cure, that his products will alleviate their symptoms and that doctors do not tell them about these "cures" because they don't know about them. His radio show is essentially an advertisement for products which are not FDA approved, and he will gratuitously spell the names of the products so that patients can order them immediately, in a moment of desperation. While this is legal in an open market, most physicians would agree that his methods are unethical.
