eponym=Biblis Patera now known as Biblis Tholus. It is an extinct Martian
volcano located at 2.7°N, 235.4°E, one of two volcanoes near the center ofTharsis volcanism. Along withUlysses Patera , it is almost midway betweenOlympus Mons andTharsis Montes . It was photographed by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on theMars Express onNovember 8 ,2004 . It is approximately 170 kilometers long and 100 kilometers wide, rising about 3 kilometers from its surroundings. In the middle of the volcano is acaldera , possibly formed as the result of collapse of the magma chamber during eruptions of the volcano. The caldera is 53 kilometers in diameter and four kilometers in depth.External links
