- HMS Blake (1889)
HMS "Blake" was the lead ship of the "Blake" class of
armoured cruiser , that served in theRoyal Navy from1889 -1922 .She was launched on
November 23 1889 at Chatham Dockyard, but not completed untilFebruary 2 1892 . After service as theflagship of theNorth America and West Indies Squadron from1892 to1895 , she served in the Channel Fleet.She was later converted to a depot ship in
1907 , serving throughWorld War One as depot ship to the 11th Destroyer Flotilla of theGrand Fleet , and was finally sold for scrapping onJune 9 1922 .References
