Giovanni Antonio Sangiorgio [Giovanni da San Giorgio, Giantonio da Sangiorgio, Johannes Antonius de Sancto Georgio. Gregorio for Georgio appears to be an error from an early book.] (born Milan; died Rome 1509) was an Italian canon lawyer and Cardinal [From 1493; he was bishop of Frascati in 1503, bishop of Palestrina in 1507, bishop of Sabina in 1508.] . He has been called one of the ‘last two great commentators on feudal law’ [http://faculty.cua.edu/Pennington/Law508/FeudalLaw.htm] .

He was bishop of Alessandria from 1478; he was referred to as the Cardinal of Alessandria [Cardinalis Alexandrinus, Alejandrino.] . He was bishop of Parma in 1500 [ [http://edit16.iccu.sbn.it/scripts/iccu_ext.dll?fn=11&res=7398] , Italian.] .

His "De appellationibus" was an early printed book (1474 [ [http://www.marginalia.it/cocoon/postillati/A125_pp.htm Marginalia - Milano, Biblioteca Trivulziana, Triv. Inc. A125 ] ] , Como, Ambrogio d'Orco and Dionigi Paravicino).
