- Mona Nemer

Mona Nemer is a Canadian science professor of Lebanese origin. She is also a scientific researcher, currently working as Vice-President, Research at the University of Ottawa, and formerly at the University of Montreal and the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal. Her research specialism is the comprehension of molecular mechanisms which register the genetic expression of cardiac cells. She is most well known for her important discovery in isolating the gene related to ventricular hypertrophy which manifests itself in an increase of the volume of the heart and a thickening myocardial wall.
