- Heir Hunters
"Heir Hunters" is a 15 part
BBC One daytime television programme, made by Flame TV, focusing on the attempts to find missing or unknown heirs, entitled to deceased people's inheritances before the British Treasury claims the money. The show was presented byNadia Sawalha and follows the work of Fraser & Fraser to show how time consuming research positively impacted people's lives. The second series of twenty episodes ran from 30 Jun 2008 until 25 July 2008, narrated by
Lisa Faulkner replacing Nadia Sawalha. It again features Fraser & Fraser as well as probate researchers Lord and Lady Teviot. This series had record viewing numbers for this time slot (9.15am - 10.00am weekdays)and beat the Jeremy Kyle show on ITV consistently during its run, prompting the BBC to immediately recommission a third series. The title card for the 2008 series spells 'Heir Hunters' as 'H£ir Hunt£rs' - using the pound sterling sign as an e.
In each programme a number of unclaimed estates from
Bona Vacantia are mentioned in the hope of information being given by a viewer which could help find an heir. One of these mentioned in the first series resulted in information that led to some heirs being found for an estate.External links
