KPUL 99.5 FM of Winterset, Iowa is a Top 40/CCM hybrid radio station. In a market that is dominated by radio network conglomerates, KPUL is unusual by maintaining independence.

The station was stunting from February 29, 2008 into March 11, 2008. After the beginning of the stunt, which had the station "flatlining" due to playing a popular Kanye West song, and a clip from Star Trek that said "He's dead, Jim", there continued to be sounds of a heart monitor and sound bites from movies and popular music. This gradually progressed to sounds of regular breathing, a heartbeat and a looping ambient soundtrack with indistinct conversations in the background. Towards the end of the stunt, there was a further progression of the sound effects, featuring radio tuning and static sound effects that featured short clips of music in the background that would be playing on the new station. The station returned to normal programming on March 11, 2008 and is known as "Pulse 99.5", playing what could be best described as lyrically-sound, contemporary, positive music from both Christian and secular sources, aimed at the 18-24 year old demographic.

The radio station gained new call letters ("KPUL") on March 3, 2008. Previously, the station was known as "KZZQ".
