- Péter Rózsa
Rózsa Péter (orig.: Politzer), (
February 17 ,1905 –February 16 ,1977 ) was a Hungarian mathematician. She is best known for her work withrecursion theory .Péter was born in
Budapest , Hungary, as Rózsa Politzer. She attendedEötvös Loránd University , where she received her Ph.D. in 1935. DuringMiklós Horthy 's collaboration with Nazi Germany, she was forbidden to teach because of her Jewish origin. After the war she published her key work, "Recursive Functions". She taught at Eötvös Loránd University from 1955 until her retirement in 1975."(see also
