The Nine Planets, a
multimedia tour of theSolar System by Bill Arnett, was one of the first examples of multimediawebsite s. It first appeared on theWorld Wide Web in 1994 and, as was common for high traffic websites at the time, was widely mirrored. It contains encyclopedic information about theSolar System with a page for each of the major bodies illustrated with photographs, mostly fromNASA . The nine planets are Mercury,Venus ,Earth ,Mars ,Jupiter ,Saturn ,Uranus ,Neptune andPluto .After the new classification of Pluto as a
dwarf planet in 2006, the website has written the title as "TheNine8 Planets".Awards
