Henry Arthur Herbert (born 1840)

Henry Arthur Herbert (born 1840)

Major Henry Arthur Herbert (born 1840), was an Irish landowner politician in the Parliament of the United Kingdom. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Kerry from 1866 until 1880.

He was the great-grandson of Henry Arthur Herbert (1756-1821), MP for Kerry from 1806–1813, and the son of Henry Arthur Herbert (1815-1866), from whom he inherited Muckross House near Killarney. Shortly after his father's death, he married Emily Julia Charlotte Keane from County Waterford, but the couple divorced in the early 1880s. They had three children, Henry Arthur Edward Keane Herbert, Kathleen Keane Herbert and Gladys Keane Herbert.
