Passenger Train ( _lv. Pasažieru Vilciens) (abbreviated: PV) is the only passenger-carrying railway company in Latvia, operating both electric and diesel trains on various lines throughout the country. It was formed in November 2001 with the bringing together of three separate companies under one name, thus forming the first subsidiary of Latvijas dzelzceļš. Pasažieru Vilciens currently operates twelve routes (four electric, eight diesel) with its main operating base being the capital city, Riga.[cite web |title=Pasažieru Vilciens overview |url=http://www.pv.lv/index.php?cat=268 |work=Pasažieru Vilciens |accessdate=2007-06-17] As of 2006, the company employed some 1136 people.][cite web |title=Employees |url=http://www.pv.lv/index.php?cat=276 |work=Pasažieru Vilciens |accessdate=2007-06-17] ]tations
