T. C. W. Blanning

Timothy C. W. Blanning (born 1942) is a historian at the University of Cambridge, focusing on the history of Continental Europe from the 17th century to the beginning of World War I.

His most recent book, "The Triumph of Music in the Modern World", which examines why music has progressed from subordinate status in the early modern period to its present position of supremacy among the creative arts, will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 2008.
