Tigra Tropica is a fictional character who first appeared in the DC Comics' universe as a villain who opposed Wonder Woman.

Fictional character biography

Angus Richman pled for help from Steve Trevor, his old friend in military intelligence, for aid because he was being tormented by a tiger that insisted on following him everywhere. Eventually, Richman collapsed from fear, and the tiger brought him a "magnificent estate" with a "large, pretentious mansion," where he was soothed by Tigra Tropica, world famous explorer and animal trainer.

Surrounded by many pet tigers, Tropica insisted she has only two human servants, and she knows they would never harm her because the tigers would then rip them to shreds. "Human beings are much more treacherous zan tigers!" she explained. "I nevair trust people!" Massaging his neck and face, she pressed nerve ceneters behind his ears, to "prevent zeir coordination with ze will-control section of [the] brain," allowing her to take complete control of him. She induced Richman to buy two tigers from her at an exorbitant sum and then forget all about it.

Scared by his new "pets," Richman had a fatal heart attack. As Steve investigated, he was attacked and kidnapped by the trained tigers. Tropica decided to keep him as a hostage in order to negotiate with Wonder Woman, who, predictably, arrived to save Trevor. Wonder Woman pretended to be hynotized by Tropica's nerve pressure technique, then turned the tables on her and saved the day.

As Wonder Woman pledged to take her to the Amazon reformatory on Transformation Island, Tropica vowed revenge.
