William Donnison Ford (1779 -
October 1 ,1833 ) was a U.S. Representative fromNew York .Born in
Herkimer County, New York , Ford was educated atFairfield Seminary, New York .He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1809 and commenced practice inFairfield, New York .He served as member of the State assembly in 1816 and 1817.He was appointed commissioner to perform duties of judge of the supreme court in 1817.He moved toWatertown, New York , in 1817 and continued the practice of law.Ford was elected as a
Democratic-Republican to the Sixteenth Congress (March 4 ,1819 -March 3 ,1821 ).He was not a candidate for reelection in 1820 to the Seventeenth Congress.He resumed the practice of his profession inWatertown, New York .He served as district attorney of Jefferson County and also as master of chancery. Trustee of the village of Watertown in 1827.He moved toSackets Harbor, New York , about 1830, and died thereOctober 1 ,1833 .He was interred in the Village Cemetery.References
