The Colgate Maroon-News is the student newspaper of

The main section of the Maroon-News contains articles about Colgate events and student-related issues, as well as stories about happenings in the village of Hamilton, and global news. There is a section for commentary and letters to the editor, where students, alumni and Colgate faculty write articles on a variety of subjects, from political criticism to responses on events. The arts and features section reports on on-campus performances and events. Music and movie reviews are frequently in this section. Finally, the sports section contains articles on both Colgate sports teams and professional teams.

The Maroon-News got its start as the Madisonensis, which was first printed in 1868. Another paper, The Colgate News, was started in the early 20th century. The two papers merged in 1991 to form the newspaper in its current form.
