tusk shell of the familyGadilidae , endemic toNew Zealand waters. It is found from theThree Kings Islands to theChatham Islands , at depths of between 15 and 360 m, and off theAuckland Islands at about 170 m.The shell is small and smooth, slender and lightly curved, mainly of uniform thickness, and only slightly constricted at the aperture. The apex is distinctive in that there is one raised triangular process on the convex side of the apical orifice.
Length is up to 5.1 mm, and width up to 0.7 mm.
