Ahmet Gueye (born
21 September 1982 inDakar ) is aSenegal ese basketball player formerly with the University of Hawaii of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).Collegiate career
Gueye played two years at
Salt Lake City Community College in Utah from 2003-2005. In 2005, Gueye signed to play with theHawaii Rainbow Warriors . In Gueye's first year with the Rainbow Warriors, Gueye averaged 12.2 points and 7.6 rebonds per game in 31.5 minutes per game, while Hawaii finished 17-11 and did not qualify for theNCAA basketball tournament . During the 2006-2007 season, Gueye averaged 12.1 points and a career high 8.3 rebounds per game (second in scoring and first in rebounds on the team) but Hawaii again did not qualify for the NCAA tournament, after finishing with a record of 18-13.Honors
Gueye played for the African Select Team at the
Global games inDallas, Texas , where he was named to the all-tournament team. He was named to the WAC all-defensive team in both season with Hawaii, as well as the all-newcomer team in 2006.ources
