Meo (IPTV)

Meo is the commercial name of the Satellite and IPTV television over ADSL service of Portugal's PT Comunicações telecommunications company. The service was started as a pilot test in the city of Lisbon in 2006 and was later extended to Porto and Castelo Branco. The commercial launch of the IPTV service took place in June 2007, and the Satellite service took place in April 2008 operating in Hispasat. Through the satellite service all the country is currently covered, while the IPTV offer still reaches few of the main regional capitals. There are plans to launch a new digital television DVB-T service also under the MEO brand.

The channel line-up includes a lot of international language channels, such as CNN International, BBC World, Eurosport, etc.

It currently competes with SONAECOM's IPTV offer Clix SmartTV.
