Jewish Awareness America

Jewish Awareness America

Jewish Awareness America (JAAM) is a nationally sponsored organization comprising a group of devoted and energetic leaders dedicated to the perpetuation of Jewish values and culture. Founded by Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz of [http://www.machonltorah.org Machon L'Torah] , JAAM's goal is to produce knowledgeable future Jewish leaders who will make personal, family, and communal decisions in light of Jewish teaching and tradition. Since its foundation in 2002, JAAM has been providing a diversified program of educational services and cultural activities designed to reconnect Jewish college students with their rich heritage.

JAAM concerns itself about the dangerous tides of society. Through the development of innovative, intriguing, and informative Jewish awareness programs on campuses throughout North America, JAAM attempts to bridge the gap created by the cessation of genuine Jewish education and awaken within students their sense of Jewish identity and pride.

To make a significant impact on the future of the American Jewry, JAAM targets students who have the potential of becoming leaders of the up and coming generation. These informed and passionate Jewish students act in leadership capacities on campus and in their communities after graduation.

In 2002, JAAM established the Maimonides Jewish Leaders Fellowship Program on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. To date, the Maimonides program has been successfully duplicated on numerous additional campuses across North America.
