Kenmore East High School is a member of the Ken-Ton School District. This school is located in Tonawanda, New York on 350 Fries Road. The school's mascot is a bulldog. The school was founded in Tonawanda, New York in 1959 and is the sister school to Kenmore West. The two schools are each other's main rivals and the East-West football game is supported by many.

The school's previous principal, Barbara Field, was forced to retire due to Huntington's Disease. The school is now run by LuAnn Ostanski, with Carm Persico and Jimmy D as assistants.

Overview

Kenmore East is located in the heart of a suburban town. Students are all familiar with Gino's Pizza Place across the road, which is a hotspot for lunch breaks. Students are also familiar with the employees and goods at Valero gas station, located down the street. Certain students more than others know this gas station. Senior Opportunities are accessible for Seniors at the school, which means that they can leave during free periods or lunches upon presenting their Senior Opps cards. Dances are frequent in the beginning of the year, and the last big dance before the Junior and Senior proms is Snowball, the winter formal (very similar to Kenmore West's Tinsel Ball). A breathalyzer is used frequently now at the dances due to the raging alcoholics attending Kenmore East, the students caught drunk are not allowed to attend any dances the rest of that year, juniors and seniors cannot attend their prom, and seniors cannot walk across the stage at graduation. Jacob Mack, Taylor Khiel, and Danielle Meyer were the last to be caught drunk at the dance on October 3rd, 2008.

There are nine class periods and one homeroom period throughout the day from 7:52am until 2:49pm. There is late remediation until 3:14pm and buses pick up students until 3:55pm.

The Library and Media center is open five days a week during school hours. Students can loan books for a month at a time free of charge.

The K.E. Reporter is a newsletter that is sent home to student's parents every two months. The Principal addresses the parents and the newsletter informs them of upcoming school events, medical issues, achievers in the classroom, order forms for school apparel, and general student body news
