The Beginning (Mega Man episode)

"The Beginning" is the first episode of the Mega Man cartoon.

Plot

Dr. Wily, Proto Man, and the Robot Masters (excluding Ice Man) destroy the airport to conquer the city. Dr. Light notifies Mega Man, Roll, and Rush of this, thus Mega Man and Rush go to the airport to stop Dr. Wily and his minions. (Before this, Roll wants to help, but Mega Man refuses her help as it is too risky.) While stopping Bomb Man, Mega Man is crushed by an airplane, thus causing serious damage to his body. Roll, Rush, and an assisting Metool quickly rush to Dr. Light's lab to repair him. During his repairs, he and Dr. Light remember when Mega Man was first built:

Dr. Wily was originally Dr. Light's assistant. They were working on a prototype robot (apparently Proto Man) when the robot destroys anything in its way. That night, Wily steals Dr. Light's plans for many other robots (after he promised to destroy those plans), Dr. Light catches him, but Wily escapes with the plans and Proto Man. Dr. Wily then reprograms Proto Man to do his bidding.

Three months after the incident, Dr. Light builds another similar robot, Rock. That night, he introduces Roll, a housecleaning robot, to Rock. He also introduces to them his other robots, Cut Man, Guts Man, and Ice Man. Dr. Wily, along with Proto Man, reprogram the three robots to do his bidding and kidnapp Rock and Roll. At Wily's castle, Rock tells a lie (Dr. Wily was under the assumption that Rock couldn't lie, as robots cannot lie) about attack robots coming to rescue him and Roll and tricks Wily into letting him go. Back at Dr. Light's lab, Rock tells Dr. Light he told a lie in order to escape and Dr. Light tells Rock that he must rebuild Rock as a fighting machine to stop Wily. After Rock is rebuilt, Dr. Light renames him "Mega Man" and introduces to him the Scooby-Doo-esque Rush, who transforms into vehicles.

Mega Man then wakes up from his dormant state, and goes back to the airport (with Roll). There they stop Dr. Wily and his minions and save the day.

Memes

Dr. Light's lines "No, I'm sure it's the... guidance system." and "They are "dangerous"!" have become internet memes (along with the slowed down noise of Dr. Light walking over to Rush's containment area, as it sounds like he's farting).
