- Lunar City 7
Lunar City 7 is a fictional city on Saturn's moon Titan in the
BBC sci-fi comedy seriesRed Dwarf . It is mentioned by Dave Lister as he sings the first two verses of the following song during the episode "Future Echoes" in Series One of the television show.To Ganymede and Titan
Yes, sir, I've been around
But there ain't no place
In the whole of Space
Like that good ol' toddlin' town
Oh! Lunar City Seven
You're my idea of heaven
Out of ten, you score eleven
You good ol' artificial terra-formed settlement, you, yeah
Oh! Lunar City Seven
Lunar Cities One through Six
They always get me down
But Lunar City Seven
You're my home townThis song was also sung by Lister in the episodes 'The End' and also hummed in 'Me2' by both Lister and Rimmer. and is taken from African ballad singer Perry N'Kwomo's best-selling album, 'Nice 'n' Nauseating'. The last verse quoted here is not heard in the show, but is taken from issue five of the Red Dwarf Smegazine, whilst the embellishment at the end of the second verse is Chris Barrie's own, featured on the unabridged 'Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers' talking book.
The mining ship Red Dwarf (on which Lister resides) is known to have disembarked from Titan Docking Port on its most recent voyage, so it is assumed that Lister has "picked up" the song before departing with the ship.
