He is also a member of theMaldives national football team and has won numerous Maldivian football awards. He is known for his dribbling ability and powerful shooting as well as accuracy in passing. Ashfaq is considered to be the best forward for the Maldivian National Team.On October 2007,he moved to
DPMM FC inBrunei with fellow national team strikerIbrahim Fazeel . In 2008 transferred fromDPMM FC toVB Sports Club for US$10,000 on a five year deal.Ashfaq was named as player of the tournament in
