P.S. Oliver (born Timothy Maximilian Oliveri) was born in Brooklyn, New York. A product of the Catholic Educational System, he discovered a love for writing in his youth and desired to become a journalist. While writing for his high school newspaper he was criticized by his school adviser for publishing opinionated pieces about religion. His religious writings were often conservative in nature, but at times criticized certain leaders of the Catholic Church. Fearing retaliation which could result in his dismissal from his Catholic High School, he began publishing under the
pen name "P.S. Oliver."It has been speculated that the "P.S." is a tribute to musician
Paul Simon since P.S. is a fan. However, according to his blog, the P.S. simply stands for "Pseudonyms Suck."Career
After graduating from High School, P.S. enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving at
NAS Sigonella , Sicily as a Supply Clerk. It was here he obtained his first management and administrative experience. Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge he was employed as a Manufacturing Foreman and later, Production Supervisor and eventual Department Manager. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, he moved on to work at a Health Care Management consulting company as an Account Manager. Presently, P.S. Oliver is self-employed working as a private consultant.Writing
P.S. Oliver has published works in three literary magazines including
