William Edward "Bill" Abernathie (January 30, 1929 in Torrance, California - February 19, 2006 in Yucaipa, California) was a professional baseball pitcher in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Abernathie was signed by the Cleveland Indians in by|1948, but he didn't play in the Majors until by|1952, appearing in only one game. In by|1953, Abernathie was traded to the Brooklyn Dodgers with money for Rocky Nelson, but he never played another game in the Majors.
