Francesco Lauri (1610-1635) was an Italian painter of the
Baroque period, active mainly inRome .He was the oldest son of a
Flemish painter of landscapes and pupil ofPaul Bril , Bathazar Lauwers (Baltassare Lauri), who emigrated fromAntwerp to Milan, then Rome. Francesco's younger brotherFillipo Lauri was also a painter and a pupil ofAngelo Caroselli . Francesco was a disciple ofAndrea Sacchi . He is said by Baldinucci to have painted one of the ovals in the ceiling of the Palazzo de' Crescenzi, and often painted figures forClaude Lorraine .ources
