Orlin Anastasov


The famous Bulgarian bass Orlin Anastasov was born in Rousse on 10 June 1976. From 1993 till 1997 he studied at the Music High-School Vesselin Stoyanov in Rousse with Professor Georgi Deliganev. In 1998 Orlin received 1st Prize at the National Competition for young opera singers Hristo Brambarov in Sofia. One year later – in 1999, only 23 years old, he was awarded with 1 Prize at the International Competition Plácido Domingo. He made his opera debut in Germany - 1997 in Aida. In 1997–1998 Orlin Anastasov took part in the European tour of the Rousse State Opera. In June 1999 he made his debut at La Scala (Italy), in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini. Following this he had engagements in London (with London Symphony Orchestra, Colin Davis conducting), Washington (with Plácido Domingo) and some of the best Opera houses in Europe (Parma, Berlin, Munich, London, Madrid, Arena di Verona) and America. In 2000 he made his first CD recording with the Sofia National Opera under the baton of Nayden Todorov.[1]
