Adam Olbrychowski

Adam Olbrychowski is a junior at Pepperdine University. He was born on September 7, 1986, in Los Angeles, California. He attended high school at Cleveland High, and he was the fifth draft pick by the New York Yankees in the 2007 MLB Draft. Adam is 6' 3" tall and weighs 180 pounds.

Olbrychowski was born on September 7, 1986, in Los Angeles, California. He attended Cleveland High School in Los Angeles, where he was a governor's scholar. After considering various colleges (Arizona, Arizona State, California, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State, Rice, Santa Clara, UCLA, and USC), he chose to attend Pepperdine University, where he is currently majoring in political science.

Player information

Olbrychowski is a right-handed pitcher for the Pepperdine Waves. He currently wears the number 33, and he has pitched three seasons for the Waves, both as a starting pitcher and in the bullpen. Adam worked mainly in the bullpen in 2005; however he was moved to the starting rotation in 2006, which is where he stayed for 2006 and 2007. Olbrychowski has a great arm and good velocity to his pitches, throwing a low-90's fastball that can reach upeards of 95 miles per hour. He can also throw a slider and a changeup; however he has been known to be inconsistent.

High school career

IN his four years at Cleveland High School, Olbrychowski earned a letter each year. In his senior year he went a solid 5-0 with a 0.21 ERA, striking out 61 batters in 32 ⅔ innings. As a junior he earned all-league honors, and he was the starting right fielder for the 2002 Los Angeles City Champions. Olbrychowski was also named to the "Los Angeles Times"' 2004 "Players to Watch" list.
