James Sharples

James Sharples

James Sharples (born 1751 or 1752 in Lancashire - died 26 February 1811 in New York [http://www.answers.com/topic/james-sharples-2] ) was an English portrait painter and husband of Ellen Sharples, born in Lancashire, who moved to the United States in 1793.

His subjects included George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Hester Thrale and Joseph Priestley.
