"The Last Days of Left Eye" is a documentary directed by Lauren Lazin which premiered on VH1 and VH1 Soul on May 19, 2007. It is centered around the life, last days spent in spiritual retreat in Honduras, and April 25, 2002 accidental death of rapper/singer/actress Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, featuring prehumously-narrative insight and commentary from interviews of the singer.

Initial accident

During the course of filming the documentary, Lisa and a few friends were passengers in a vehicle driven by her assistant when a small boy ran out in front of the vehicle and was struck. The child died later that night. Lopes offered to pay the funeral costs for the family. After the funeral, Lopes was given the boy's shoes, and remarked to the cameraman, "His last name was Lopez. Isn't that something?" She also explained her fears that a spirit had been stalking her to do harm, but thought that the spirit made a mistake and killed the child rather than her.

Lopes' death

The video of Lopes' fatal accident, taken from within the Mitsubishi Pajero that rolled over into the grass, was intentionally edited by the director at the request of the singer's family so as to show only the procession of events in the vehicle prior to the moment of impact. The coroner who performed her autopsy ruled her death as an accident.

Reigndrop Lopes confirmed that a DVD will be released and confirmed that a new Left Eye album will be released.
