Kate Crawford

Kate Crawford

Kate Crawford is a writer, composer, producer and academic based in Sydney, Australia.

Kate was previously part of Sydney electronic band B(if)tek (along with Nicole Skeltys. Kate co-founded the Sydney based Deluxe Mood Recordings record label and is a member of the Clan Analogue music collective.

As a writer Kate has written for "The Sydney Morning Herald" and the New York based 451. In 2006 she won the individual category of the Manning Clark House National Cultural Awards for her book "Adult Themes" (released through Pan-MacMillan).

In March 2008 she was selected as one of 1000 Australians to attend the Australia 2020 Summit in Canberra on 19-20 April 2008.

Kate is an Associate Professor in the Journalism and Media Research Centre at the University of New South Wales.
