Southern Newspapers Inc. is a Houston, Texas publishing holding company. The company was founded originally as Southern Newspapers, Inc., of Tennessee in 1967 by B. Carmage Walls. Its flagship paper, the "Galveston County Daily News", was founded April 11, 1842, and holds the distinction of being the oldest newspaper in Texas.
