Peter Kenez is a
historian specializing inRussia n history andEastern Europe . He also teaches courses onSoviet cinema and an interdisciplinary course on theHolocaust with literature professor Maury Baumgarten. He has taught at theUniversity of California, Santa Cruz since it opened in 1965.He received his PhD from
