- Rudolf Züllich
Rudolf Züllich (1813 in
Gyulafehérvár - 1890 inCairo ) was a Hungariansculptor noted for hisclassicist style. He is best known for his bust ofJózsef Katona which was erected in Pest, and that ofSándor Kisfaludy inBalatonfüred. After studying sculpture and working in
Vienna andRome , he returned to Pest and in 1846 modelled Juno a 132 cm tall whitemarble statue. Many of his busts are in theHungarian National Gallery inBudapest . The following years of his life saw him inKolozsvár ,Paris ,Sicily and towards his later years inEgypt where he died inCairo in 1890.External links and sources
