Tanalore

The fictional continent of Tanalore is where the fictional countries of Llewdor and Tamir are located for the purpose of the "King's Quest series". There is a desert in the geographical center of the continent and this does not allow trade to go through the lands. A tribe of Medusa-like monsters roam across this desert, turning people who attempt to cross the desert into statues. The port town of Port Bruce is partly dependent on Medusa so that they can collect that statues and sell them for profit on other lands. However, most sailors refuse to carry them, as they consider the practice to be grave robbery.
