- Doc Zone
-
Doc Zone is the flagship documentary series of CBC Television. Its documentaries stem from the front lines of the world’s news, and its subject matter ranges across the events, trends and ideas that are shaping our lives. The best Canadian directors and cinematographers offer strong, narrative stories that reveal the drama in the evolving human experience. Doc Zone features both independently produced and in-house productions. Presented by acclaimed author, actor and playwright Ann-Marie MacDonald, this series brings its viewers in-depth stories in the journalistic tradition of The New York Times Magazine and The Atlantic, with the sweep and scope of the best documentary work in contemporary television.
Recent Doc Zone programs include We Will Remember Them, a tribute to Canada's fallen soldiers, and Africa on the Move, a four-part series focusing on the sweeping changes affecting daily life on that continent.
Thursdays at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC Television
Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBC News Network
Other CBC documentary programming includes The Passionate Eye on CBC’s News Network, and CBC’s digital documentary channel.
