Dogo Barry Graham

Dogo Barry Graham (born 1966) is a Scottish-born novelist, poet, journalist, screenwriter, blogger, and Zen Buddhist monk who has been based in the USA since 1995 and who currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona. He is the author of "The Book of Man", "Before", and other works. "The Book of Man" was chosen by the American Library Association as one of the best books of 1995. He has also written nonfiction for "Harper's", "Flaunt", "Las Vegas Life", "Scotland on Sunday" and other publications. "Details" magazine called him "one of the real literary finds," and "American Book Review" called him "the awesome Barry Graham... where innovative writing meets issues that matter."

Dogo Sensei is the Abbot of The Sitting Frog Zen Sangha. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Engaged Zen Foundation, and is a senior student of Ven. Kobutsu Malone Osho. He has witnessed two executions in Florence, Arizona, invited each time by the prisoner, not the state.

His book on Zen, "Kill Your Self", will be published by New World Library in 2009.
