*Townie is a term commonly used in university towns to refer to residents not affiliated with the university. see|Town and gown

*Townie can mean an urban youth or a form of Chav, but without the anti-social behaviour etc.

*Townie is a term used by rural residents to describe people who come from urban areas, particularly when they move to a rural area and complain about farmyard smells and other characteristics of rural life.

*Townie is also a term for someone who has not left the town in which they were born and raised.

*Townie is also a type of bicycle.
