He debuted with the Dodgers onSeptember 22 , by|1978 against theSan Diego Padres after being drafted by L.A. in the 17th round of the by|1975 amateur draft. Gulden played in less than 10 games in four of his seven major league seasons and finished with a batting average of .200. Gulden was also the starting catcher for the Yankees in their first game afterThurman Munson 's funeral in August, by|1979; Munson having been killed in anairplane crash four days earlier. Gulden currently resides in rural Minnesota where he is now a volunteer firefighter as well as a car salesman.Brad Gulden holds a place in

In by|1980 theNew York Yankees sent him to theSeattle Mariners with $150,000 for a player to be named andLarry Milbourne , In May by|1981 the Mariners sent Gulden back to the Yankees as the player to be named.In by|1986 Gulden was on his way out of the major leagues, when he was given the nickname "Humm Baby" by Giants manager Roger Craig after he had been given a spot on the roster as a third catcher.
