Frieda Jahnke (born
July 9 1906 ) was a guard at severalconcentration camps duringWorld War II . She never married, and in 1944, she applied with theNeubrandenburg camp offices to become aprison guard . She was born inNeubrandenburg ,Germany .The
SS sent her as anAufseherin to theBuchenwald subcamp atTorgau , Germany. There Jahnke was trained and became a ruthless warder. Soon after she went to theMarkkleeberg subcamp nearLeipzig , and after that, to the Buchenwald concentration camp. As theAllies came close to Buchenwald, the SS sent her toRavensbrück while overseeing a group of prisoners.Jahnke fled Ravensbruck in late April 1945 before the onset of the
Red Army . Her fate remains unknown.
