John Joseph Babka (
March 16 ,1884 -March 22 ,1937 ) was a U.S. Representative fromOhio .Born in
Cleveland, Ohio , Babka attended the public schools.He was graduated from the Cleveland Law School in 1908.He was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice inCleveland, Ohio .He served as special counsel to the attorney general of Ohio in 1911 and 1912.He served as assistant prosecuting attorney of Cuyahoga County 1912-1919.Babka was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-sixth Congress (
March 4 ,1919 -March 3 ,1921 ).He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1920 to the Sixty-seventh Congress.He resumed the practice of law.He served as delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 1920 and 1932. At the time of his death was acting as liquidating attorney for the division of savings and loan associations of the department of commerce of Ohio.He died atCleveland, Ohio ,March 22 ,1937 .He was interred in Calvary Cemetery.ource
