La New Corporation

La New Corporation (in Chinese: La New皮鞋, meaning "La New Shoes") is a footwear manufacturing company that is based in Taiwan. La New was founded in 1996 by Liu Baoyou, (劉保佑), a Taiwanese businessman. The company is based in Kaohsiung.

La New is part of the Taiwan-based Dada Group (達達集團}, led by Liu Bouyou, which manufactures home appliances, stationery, shoes and other goods in China, Taiwan, Mexico and Vietnam.

Baseball

In 2003, the "First Financial Holdings Agan", a baseball team in Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League that was doing poorly on the field, was purchased by Dada Group and Liu Bouyou. The team was renamed La New Bears, after the shoe company, for the 2004 baseball season.
