Founded in 1974, Ross Video was initially funded with a $3,000 investment, the proceeds of the sale of John Ross' personal airplane. From humble beginnings in John's basement and garage, Ross has grown to an international company with more than 250 employees.
Today, Ross Video remains privately held by the Ross family. John Ross sits on the Board of Directors, and David Ross is the CEO, working with a broadly experienced professional management team.
Since the beginning, Ross Video's growth has been entirely self-funded. Ross Video’s corporate philosophy is to have the ability to manage growth without external funding as part of a disciplined approach to the business. All aspects of operations are closely managed to ensure efficiency.
With no outside shareholders to please, Ross is free to focus on the satisfaction of customers and respond to customer needs ahead of short-term profit goals.

1978 - Ross Video patents transition preview.
1981 - Ross introduces Linear Soft-Edged Borders.
