turboprop -engine tactical training aircraft developed in theUnited States in the late 1980s. It was a low-wingmonoplane ofcomposite construction with retractable tricycleundercarriage . The AT-9 was based on the Glasair IIIhomebuilt aircraft , but added a turboprop engine and underwing weapons stations. The singleprototype (registration "N253LC") was the only example built, and was destroyed in a fatal crash on 23 May 1989.pecifications
