The management of college is under University administration. The experience of establishing and running a national level institute like Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra (Now NIT Kurukshetra) is coming handy in the running of the newly established institute. UIET has been a pioneer in many aspects and a lot of activities are conducted in order to make students suitable for working in the industry and to make them helpful for society.Within a short span of time the University Institute of Engineering & Technology has earned a good reputation within the state of Haryana. High ranking student from different Engineering Entrance Exams are opting for different courses at University Institute of Engineering & Technology. With their hard work and able guidance of the faculty members at University Institute of Engineering & Technology these students are sure to become the world class Engineers and Technologists.

* Digiterati, powered by the computer wizzies, emerged with a series of programming tests and quizzes.
* Excellence Foundation(R) is a group that encompasses all the activities related to overall development of student such as o Inter college Technical Fest “EXCELSIOR-06” o Personality development program. o Cultural Fest. o Executive Meets.
* Genesis: This is a unique club of Biotechnology students , working its way to unite biotechnology community of the whole Kurukshetra University and Haryana State. Seminars, Quizzes, Discussions on various topics are held, which are conducted by students of the institute. * Innovatia being the first club of UIET started by Electronic techies has a list aptitude tests and GDs under its belt
SPORTS
* UIET also organized an inter college sports meet “PRATISPARDHA-2007” in which more than 16 colleges from all over Haryana participated. * An inter college cricket tournament is also organized once every semester.
NATIONAL LEVEL SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
* In association with Electronics Sc. Deptt. K.U, UIET organized annual meet of Indian Microelectronics Society (IMS). * A workshop on “Computer Networks” was conducted by Dr. D. Medhi (Prof. Univ. of Missourie, Kansas City, U.S.A) * [http://technik.co.in/excelsior Excelsior '08] a national level techno cultural fest is planned for the current semester.
FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
* AICTE conducted technical teacher development program in the college campus recently.
The University provides for an overall development of the students` personality in the thoroughly academic environment which also allows students to interact with dynamics of the society through its vast campus.
PLACEMENT *So far first batch 2/3 of the batch has got placed in various reputed MNCs.

Institute’s Training and Placement Cell comprises both faculty members as well as students.
A number of 3rd year students are already placed even though it is just the first batch of the institute. Besides the placements are still going on and we hope to get 100% batch placed by the time placement season ends.
